Canadian Government Deploys D4H as Provincial SAR Team Management Solution for Alberta

Back in 2013, D4H secured a contract with the Government of Alberta, Canada to implement our D4H software solutions with the objective of improving vital emergency response efforts in the area. We're proud to say these teams are still utilizing D4H successfully today.

The Challenge

The Canadian government needed a team management software solution that would provide enhanced oversight, communication, and coordination over 40 search and rescue teams in Alberta. The primary objective of the project was to improve vital emergency response efforts in the area.

They aimed to achieve this by tracking personnel, equipment, and reports effectively and efficiently in a cloud-based software solution. It was important that each of the SAR teams would use one consolidated solution with standardized reporting formats.

The Solution

D4H was selected as the complete software package for all 40 SAR teams in Alberta. Details of the contract were announced in June 2013 during the Enterprise Ireland trade mission to Western Canada, which was organized in close cooperation with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Embassy of Ireland to Canada.

D4H is a multi-award-winning response team management platform that is designed specifically for the preparation, management, analysis, and prevention of incidents. The software is available as a complete suite or can be broken down into independent modules D4H Personnel & Training, D4H Equipment Management, D4H Incident Management, and D4H Incident Reporting & Analytics.

‘‘We are delighted to implement D4H across all the Canadian Search & Rescue teams in Alberta; we feel the software will greatly enhance the critical work they are doing. D4H will act as an all-encompassing management tool that spans their entire search and rescue teams’’.
— Robin Blandford, CEO, D4H Technologies.

At the time, Ross O’Colmain, who heads up Enterprise Ireland’s office in Toronto, added:

‘‘This agreement between D4H and the Government of Alberta clearly demonstrates the opportunities that exist for innovative and ambitious Irish companies in Canada and around the world.’’
