Red Cross puts D4H on Frontline of COVID-19 Response

The Irish Red Cross has announced D4H Technologies as their new readiness and response system to track the operations and equipment for their clinical and community members nationally.

D4H Technologies is an Irish software company that provides market-leading readiness and response solutions for public safety teams, industrial facilities, and corporate crises around the globe. Recording over 15 million response hours per year, D4H’s software solutions are deployed in more than 30 countries. Last month, they announced their new bid to support response organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing software subscriptions to government and public safety teams free of charge for the duration and purpose of their COVID-19 effort.

Using the experience gained by D4H helping the frontline of COVID-19 response globally, the Irish Red Cross was able to deploy a national technology platform within 48 hours across its 86 teams. Their new platform will be used to support 3,200 members.

“This software, now activated, is proving to be of enormous benefit to our members, officers, and Areas in the response to this pandemic. The software system enables effective management of personnel and vehicles in their locality.”
— Anthony Lawlor, National Director of Units, Irish Red Cross.

The Red Cross is using the software throughout the pandemic to track personnel availability, ambulance deployment, community vehicles used, and vehicle mileage. The cloud-based software is remotely accessible and during this period of social distancing, it is eliminating the need for in-person meetings to coordinate the teams and their responses.

“This new system has already proved its value in providing immediate management information, enabling the tracking and reporting of the services we provide in communities throughout the country.”
— Aiden Lonergan, National Director of Community Support, Irish Red Cross.

Currently, the two organizations are working together to further develop the system with volunteer information, community vehicles and ambulance details that will allow the Red Cross to flexibly manage volunteer response and availability for COVID-19 State support.

“While it is the mission of the Irish Red Cross to support the state in this time of need, it is our duty to provide effective technologies for them. It is our duty to help them to be ready, to help them to respond effectively, and to help them re-evaluate and adapt as they deploy.”
— Robin Blandford, Chief Executive, D4H Technologies
