Introducing D4H's Free Hurricane Extension Pack

We're offering a free Hurricane Extension Pack to help emergency managers respond swiftly and effectively to hurricane emergencies. The Hurricane Extension Pack enhances your D4H emergency management software by equipping you with pre-built templates, forms, status boards tailored for hurricane response.

What is an Extension Pack?

An Extension Pack is a tool designed to extend the functionality of your D4H emergency management software. It allows you to share and integrate custom pre-built Forms, Status Boards, and Task Boards with other teams or download them directly from our Extension Pack Library. Extension Packs enable organizations to quickly adopt pre-configured templates, saving time and effort by providing ready-to-use emergency management resources.

What's Included in the Hurricane Extension Pack?

The Extension Pack includes a variety of tools to ensure you’re well-equipped for every aspect of hurricane response. Let’s take a closer look at the Status Boards and Forms included in the pack, which are tailored to help you monitor key elements of hurricane emergency management:

Status Boards for Real-Time Situational Awareness

1. Evacuation Status

This Status Board allows you to monitor real-time data on evacuation efforts, including evacuation routes, zones, and the number of people evacuated. By having this critical information at your fingertips, you can ensure that residents are safely and efficiently moved out of harm's way.

2. Damage Assessment

Quickly assess and track damages across affected areas, whether it's structural damage to buildings, infrastructure, or utilities. With this board, you can prioritize areas requiring urgent assistance and allocate resources effectively.

3. Flood Zones/Risks

Hurricanes often bring the risk of flooding. The Flood Zones/Risks Status Board lets you monitor flood zones, storm surge levels, and precipitation forecasts, enabling your team to take proactive measures and mitigate risks.

4. Generators

Power outages are inevitable in a storm. This board helps you track the availability and usage of generators, ensuring critical infrastructure like hospitals and shelters remain operational throughout the storm.

5. Hazardous Material

Hurricanes can result in hazardous material spills that pose threats to public safety. The Hazardous Material Status Board allows you to track and monitor any hazardous material incidents, keeping your team informed and ready to respond to environmental threats.

6. Media Tracker

In the midst of a natural disaster, timely and accurate information is essential. The Media Tracker Status Board helps you stay on top of public communications and media reports, ensuring your messaging is aligned with the latest updates.

7. PDA (Public Assistance)

This board allows you to monitor funding allocated for public assistance efforts in the aftermath of the storm, ensuring resources are directed where they are needed most.

8. Public Transportation

For residents without personal means of transportation, evacuating or moving between shelters can be a challenge. The Public Transportation Status Board lets you track available transportation options, helping ensure that those most in need are safely relocated.

9. Resource Requests

Managing resources during an emergency can be overwhelming. The Resource Requests Status Board centralizes requests from your team for equipment, supplies, and personnel, helping you fulfill needs efficiently and avoid bottlenecks.

10. Road Closures

Storms often lead to road closures, making it difficult to coordinate response efforts. With this board, you can track which roads are closed and direct emergency responders and the public to open, accessible routes.

11. Shelters

The Shelters Status Board helps you keep track of all shelters, providing a real-time overview of availability.

You can also dive deeper into each shelter to track occupancy and availability of various resources, ensuring residents have a safe place to go during the storm and that shelters are not overwhelmed.

12. Storm Forecast and Path

Stay informed with up-to-the-minute data on the storm's path, wind speeds, and projected landfall. This Status Board ensures your team has the most accurate forecast data to make informed decisions as conditions change.

13. Utilities

Hurricanes often cause widespread power and utility outages. This board allows you to monitor outages and track restoration efforts, ensuring a coordinated response to minimize disruption and bring critical utilities back online.

Digital ICS Forms for Standardized Communication

The pack also includes a collection of Digital ICS forms (200, 201, 202, 203, 204, 205, 205A, 206, 207, 208, 209, 210, 211, 213, 213RR, 214, 215, 215A, 218, 220, 221) to ensure clear and consistent communication across all levels of the response effort.
